Oh, Here We Are Together

England, Austria

History and Song Notes

Oh, Here We Are Together is a folksong with Austrian and English origins. The tune of this song comes from a 19th century Viennese folk tune, O du lieber Augustin, and the version we know today was published in the 1920s. This song is a lovely way to start class and to invite everyone to participate in the music making.

Alternate Verse:

The more we get together, together, together,

The more we get together, the happier we’ll be.

And your friend is my friend, and my friend is your friend.

The more we get together, the happier we’ll be.
