This Little Light of Mine is a traditional American folksong. Believed to have been composed as a children’s song by Harry Dixon Loes in the 1920s, This Little Light of Mine became strongly associated with the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s. Many versions of the song have been created, as have many children’s books that center around the song.
